God’s Love Is Enough

Confused About Life? Try the Lens of Love

Gods love is enough, confused about life

If you’re like everyone else who has ever lived on planet earth, you’ve probably experienced some confusion about your life. What am I supposed to do with myself? How can I make more money? When will I meet my spouse? Should we buy this house or not? Why is life so difficult?

God’s Love Is Great Enough to Outweigh Life’s Confusions

These questions and many more can be a weight on our shoulders, replacing our joy for life with worry and confusion. I was recently feeling burdened about life, so I began to pray. Sometimes God gives me specific direction that helps with my current problem. But this time he didn’t. I felt like he simply said, “I love you.” Immediately life made sense again.

Sometimes all we need to hear is that God loves us. It may sound cliché, but simply knowing that you are loved by God makes life worth living, no matter how difficult the present situation. Likewise, no matter how favorable the situation, life is pure drudgery when we don’t know that we are loved, especially when we don’t know we are loved by God. We were made to live off of the love of God. We weren’t made to be filled by our careers, family life, and all the other things that we fill our time with. We were made to be fueled by God.

God’s Love Is More Than Enough to Conquer Your Fears in Life

Complicated problems don’t always require complicated solutions. All we really need in life is to know that God loves us. “Do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:29-32). I wonder how much better life would be if we simply held tightly to the reality of God’s love for us?

So whatever the issue, dwell upon God’s love for you. “See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1). When you know deep down in the recesses of your soul that God loves you and cares for you, your feelings of anxiety are changed. Your circumstances may be the same. Your knowledge on what to do next may be the same. But the peace will be perfect when you know that God loves you. God’s love is enough.

Even When You Don’t Have Answers to Life’s Confusing Questions, God’s Love Is Enough

When you know that God loves you, life just makes sense. And even when it doesn’t, you’re okay with it, because you know you are loved deeply by God. The lens of love clarifies the confusion of life. Let us continually seek to live life through this lens and no other.

So if you’re going through a rough time in life, don’t immediately try and solve the external problem. Get to the root of the matter, which is that your circumstance are causing you to doubt God’s love for you, and thus you feel anxious. Dwell on the reality that God loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), and see if this does not change everything.

He often does give us answers that go beyond and deeper knowledge of his love, but ultimately he God’s love is always the answer.
