Isaiah 5:20-21, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!”
Not only was Charlie Kirk murdered by a sexually depraved person who was fully indoctrinated by leftist ideologies, but those celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk are also people who profess to be leftists. Why are they so full of hate and violence?
I believe God is using the death of Charlie Kirk in the same way he used, and continues to use, the life of Charlie Kirk. In life and in death, God has and is continuing to use Charlie to show how leftism is evil and absolutely unbiblical. While Charlie was not a perfect man, none of us are, he was pointing people away from evil ideas and toward biblical ideas.
In honor of Charlie, I believe the best thing we can do is to use our minds and expose evil with biblical truth, which is what Charlie used his life doing.
Therefore, today I want to give you a biblical reason why leftism always leads to hate and violence.
Leftism Always Leads to Hate and Violence Because It Detaches People from an Objective Morality
In John 16:2-4, Jesus said, “Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God. And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me. But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you.”
What they call love is lust. What they call same-sex marriage is sexual perversion. What they call transitioning is mutilation of the body. What they call truth is lies. What they call lies is truth. What they call progress is regression. What they call good is evil.
But who’s to say? Maybe Christians are wrong? Maybe it is right to have sex before marriage, to support homosexual desires, to teach children that they can change genders. Why can Christians claim to be right and leftists to be wrong?
Perhaps the core difference between a real Christian and a leftist is the idea that God has given us a moral law that declares what is good and what is evil. As Bible-believing Christians, we know that morality is not just a human opinion. Rather, true morality reflects God’s image. God’s laws in Scripture are not random rules made by God, as though if God said murder was right, it would be right, or as though if God said homosexuality was good, then it would be good.
No. God’s laws are what they are because they reflect God’s nature (Romans 3:23). He said murder is wrong because God is love. He said homosexuality is a sin because the female and the male are needed to display the full image of God in sex. He said lying is evil because he is true. Like a mirror (James 1:22-25), God’s laws show us our sins because when we compare our imperfect image bearing against the perfect image of God reflected in the laws of God, we can then see our sins (Romans 3:20).
God’s laws could not be anything other than what they are because God could never be anything other than what he is (Hebrews 13:8). Every true ounce of real morality exists because it reflects the truth about God (John 17:17). He is the universal moral lawgiver. He never changes, and thus right and wrong never change. Psalm 119:160, “The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.”
But leftism doesn’t believe there is a universal right and wrong. It doesn’t believe in an absolute truth. It can’t ever have a stable guiding moral compass. Why? Because in rejecting God, they have rejected the idea that anything can be eternally true. Rather, they believe their feelings dictate what is right. They believe the only evil is to be told there is an absolute right and wrong.
They hate the idea of an absolute truth because if there is an absolute moral law, they know they will be judged by it (Romans 2:15-16). And because they love their sin and are constantly battling their own guilty conscience, they hate anyone who reminds them of the truth, which is that they are living in sin and will be judged by God with hell for eternity, as all will be who refuse the cleansing blood of Christ. As Jesus said to those who did not believe in him, “The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil” (John 7:7).
Ironically, leftists say that Christians hate homosexuals, trans people, and others living in sin. But what they really mean by hate is truth. When they say, “Hate has no home here,” what they really mean is “Truth has no home here.” They equate telling someone the truth about their sins with hating that person. They claim we hate them because we are the only ones who love them enough to tell them the truth. It’s not hateful to tell someone that they are living in sin and will spend eternity in hell if they don’t repent and turn to Jesus, allowing him to pay the penalty for the sins they committed. It’s hateful not to tell people the truth.
Because they are aimless and without the immovable truth, they can call truth hate. And this is the reason leftism always leads to true hate and violence. I’m not saying every left-leaning person will become a murderer. But I am saying the ideology of leftism will always lead to murder. Why? Because they can divorce themselves from the laws that are meant to restrain our wicked, sinful natures. When confronted with a truth that makes them hate the person saying it, they can justify why it is right to murder that person because their feelings, rather than the truth, govern them.
While the Christian will vehemently disagree with people with differing viewpoints, a true Christian will submit to God’s moral laws, such as do not murder (Exodus 20:13). I will also go as far as to say that an unbeliever who values the ideas of truth that are given to us by God can still submit to general rights and wrongs. Thus, a society based on Christian values, even if everyone is not a real Christian in that society, does not lead to hate and murder.
The leftist and a society based on leftist ideologies, however, can justify hate and murder because they don’t believe there is an absolute right and wrong. If they really feel like someone should be murdered, their warped conscience and hardened heart will entice them to murder.
This is why you have so many leftists celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk. He told them what they didn’t want to hear. And so, they are glad he is dead because they are completely removed from a moral compass.
Murdering innocent people is what leftism gets you. People celebrating the death of a someone who just spoke words they didn’t like is what leftism gets you. This is why everyone, whether you are a Christian or not, should completely reject leftism.
