4 Biblical Marks of a Woman Sent By God to Bless You

Proverbs 31:11-12

Are you just experiencing wishful thinking? Or did God really send that woman into your life to bless you?

Here are 4 biblical marks that mean God really sent that woman to you as a blessing.

1. When You Are Increasing the Joy in Her Life By Being a Godly Man to Her, This Is a Good Sign God Sent Her to Bless You

When we think about being blessed by God, we often imagine getting something that directly benefits us. Like receiving a gift, we think that God’s blessings are meant to benefit us. However, according to Scripture, one of the best blessings is when we are given the power and opportunity to benefit someone else.

As Paul explains in Acts 20:35, “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

This same idea is true when it comes to God desiring good for you in a relationship with a woman. As a man of God, your biggest source of joy that will stem from a woman will come from sacrificially loving her and serving her.

When you see how happy she is with you, this will be what makes you most happy in the relationship.

2. When She Is Increasing the Joy in Your Life By Being a Godly Woman to You, This Is a Good Sign God Sent Her to Bless You

While it is better to give than to receive, when God sends a woman to be a blessing to you, she will also want to directly bless you rather than only being blessed by you. As God said in Genesis 2:18 of man, “I will make him a helper fit for him.”

Does she know how to listen when you are having a bad day? Does she know what to say when you need encouragement or counsel? Does she appreciate the gifts and talents you have? Does she go out of her way to do nice things for you?

When a woman is adding to the joy in your life, this is a great sign God sent her to be blessing to you. As it says of the Proverbs 31 woman’s relationship with her husband, “The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life” (Proverbs 31:11-12).

3. If You Are Going Through Hard Things Together But It’s Producing Good Fruit in You and in Your Relationship with Her, This Is a Good Sign God Sent Her to Bless You

The world cannot understand how a loving God allows hard things to happen to people. While much evil and hardship occurs because of man’s free will and sin, there is also a biblical truth that God allows difficulties as a way of maturing and blessing us (Romans 5:3-5, James 1:2-4, Hebrews 12:6-7).

This principle also applies when it comes to relationships. When you and woman are going through hard things but in the midst of the trial you are tearing each other down, growing more distant, and indulging in sinful coping mechanism, these are signs this woman is not who God wants you with.

However, when the trials are helping you both deal with past issues that needed to be solved, when the hardships are maturing you both as a couple, and when the challenges are actually making you two even closer, these are great signs God has sent this woman to bless you.

Ultimately, God wants you and your future wife to help each other love him more. When hard things in your relationship are helping you both grow closer to Jesus together, this is an extremely good sign.

As 2 Corinthians 1:9 says, “Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.”

4. If You Sense that She Is Wife Material and She Sees You as Husband Material, This Is a Good Sign God Sent Her to Bless You

God can certainly send a woman into your life for a period of time as a way of blessing you. Perhaps your relationship with her was needed to prepare you for your relationship with your future wife. Or perhaps that relationship was used to expose issues you didn’t know you had. Or maybe God used you to help her for a season even though it was just temporary.

However, Scripture is clear that a wife is a major blessing from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22 states, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” Thus, if you feel like this woman is your future wife and she feels like you are her future husband, this is a great sign God is blessing you both with each other.
