A woman sent by God will be a blessing (Proverbs 18:22). Satan, however, always seeks to do the opposite of God. Therefore, he will send you a woman to be a curse.
One way to find the woman God wants for you and avoid the women Satan wants for you is to know these four signs of an evil woman as described in the Scriptures.
1. A Woman Sent By Satan to Ruin Your Life Will Be Marked By External Beauty Paired with an Inner Ugliness
Proverbs 7:8-10, 25-26 (NLT), “He was crossing the street near the house of an immoral woman, strolling down the path by her house . . . The woman approached him, seductively dressed and sly of heart. She was the brash, rebellious type, never content to stay at home . . . Don’t let your hearts stray away toward her. Don’t wander down her wayward path. For she has been the ruin of many; many men have been her victims.”
Proverbs 7 describes a woman who appears attractive, but she is immoral and lacks godliness. Not only did she tempt this foolish man into adultery, but she also tempted him to ruin his own life by making terrible choices.
That’s why Satan loves to use attractive women with bad character to ruin men’s lives. When lust is involved, logic goes out the window. When a man allows eyes and flesh to dictate his choice in a woman, it’s like that man is opening the castle gates himself. The enemy thanks him and then proceeds to slaughter him.
Remember the counsel of Proverbs 31:30 (NLT), “Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.”
2. A Woman Sent By Satan to Ruin Your Life Will Be Marked By Opposing Your Purpose
1 Kings 21:25, “There was none who sold himself to do what was evil in the sight of the Lord like Ahab, whom Jezebel his wife incited.”
A purposeless man is a dead man walking. As men, we were created by God to enjoy things like rest, spending time with family, and being home. However, we were also made for working (Genesis 2:15, Ephesians 2:10).
A woman sent by Satan will get mad when a man spends time working hard. The devil loves this because a man without meaningful work in his life is a man unable to stop himself from temptation. Why? Because without direction and a mission to accomplish, he becomes lifeless and desperate; and desperation always leads to manipulation.
Thus, to kill a man’s soul, the devil will try to keep a man from working hard to advance God’s kingdom. And one of Satan’s most effective ways to keep a man off mission is by sending a woman into his life to distract and demotivate him from serving God.
Jezebel was one of the most dangerous women in Scripture—not because of her beauty or power, but because of her spiritual rebellion. She turned King Ahab’s heart away from God and filled his life with corruption, manipulation, and idolatry.
Notice what the verse says: Ahab sold himself to do evil because Jezebel incited him. In modern terms, she provoked, pressured, and poisoned him spiritually.
Some men today live under the same curse. They get involved with women who are constantly in conflict, chasing worldly status, or stirring emotional chaos. Before long, these men are drained—emotionally, financially, and spiritually.
A woman was meant to be a man’s partner as they did kingdom work together. If a woman constantly pulls you away from serving Christ, she’s helping Satan ruin your life.
3. A Woman Sent By Satan to Ruin Your Life Will Be Marked By Control
Ephesians 5:24-25, Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her . . .”
God did not make a man to control a woman. However, God did call husbands to lead their wives. For this to work, a woman must be willing to choose to follow her husband. Nowhere in the Bible is this a forced submission.
Thus, to do the opposite of what God wants, Satan will not only try to make a man passive, but he will also try to get the man with a woman who will lead. This was Satan’s original attack on the human race. By tempting Eve to lead and Adam to follow, all hell broke loose, literally speaking.
If you sense a controlling spirit around a woman, run. A godly woman is not looking for a puppet she can manipulate. She’s looking for a strong man she can submit to because he’s a servant leader.
4. A Woman Sent By Satan to Ruin Your Life Will Be Marked By Pulling You Away from Obedience to God
Genesis 3:6, “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.”
Somehow, someway, it always comes back to either obeying God or disobeying God. No matter what complicated attack the enemy may be employing on you, never forget that this is his true goal. Thus, to really know if a woman is sent by Satan or God, you should look at your own obedience.
A woman sent by Satan will try to convince you that your convictions are “too extreme,” that your faith is “too strict,” or that “God just wants you to be happy.” But obedience to God is never optional.
And to be clear, as men, we can never blame a woman for our bad choice. However, we also need to recognize that if we let them, worldly women will tempt us into sin. Never mess around with a worldly woman. Resist the attacks of the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
