4 Ways a Flirtatious Person Can Let Demons Into Your Life

2 Corinthians 3:17

Here are 4 ways Satan can use a flirtatious person to let demons into your life.

1. If a Flirtatious Person Is Tempting You to Idolize Them, This Can Bring Demons Into Your Life

1 Corinthians 10:19-22, “What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. Shall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?”

One of the most common means through which the devil can gain influence in our lives is through a flirtatious person. When you are lured into idolizing this person, you are opening yourself up to be influenced by demonic forces.

As Christians, we don’t need to fear Satan or his demons. When Christ is in us, no demon can also be in us (2 Corinthians 3:17). When we submit to God, the devil must flee (James 4:7). However, if we don’t repent and submit to God, we can be influenced by demonic forces who are using other people to tempt us into idolatrous sins.

2. If a Flirtatious Person Is Tempting You Sexually, This Can Bring Demons Into Your Life

1 Corinthians 6:13-20, “The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, ‘The two will become one flesh.’ But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

When someone is flirtatious, there goal is to arouse your interest even though they don’t have a deep desire to grow with you. They want the joy of connecting romantically without the commitment that is supposed to be protect us in romance. Thus, you can see why sexual desires almost always play a factor with flirtatious people.

The devil knows that when we lack self-control with our sexuality, we can easily fall to his temptations (1 Corinthians 7:5).

3. If a Flirtatious Person Is Tempting You to Partner with Belial, This Person Is Being Used By the Devil

2 Corinthians 6:14-16, “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God.”

According to GotQuestions.org, “The Old Testament uses Belial as a personification of evil, not an actual entity. Later, the personification began to be thought of as an actual person, and in the New Testament Belial is used as a proper name of Satan in 2 Corinthians 6:15.”1

There’re only two paths we can follow. The path leading to everlasting life with God (Matthew 25:34) or the path to everlasting destruction with the devil (Matthew 25:41). Don’t let a flirtatious person tempt you into an unequally yoked relationship. This isn’t just about human relationships. This is also about following God or Satan.

4. If a Flirtatious Person Is Using Flattery to Deceive Your Heart, This Person Is Being Used to Bring Demons Into Your Life

Romans 16:18-20, “For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.”

Don’t give in! The lures of a flirtatious person are just like any other temptation. The pull is strong in the moment, but it will pass. You must not react when your feelings are at their most intense.

Soon Satan will be crushed. Keep enduring and following the Lord!
