How will God lead your future husband to pursue you?
While each our of journeys towards marriage is unique, there are some biblical principles that always apply when God is putting a man and woman together.
Therefore, here are 5 things God will tell your future husband so he knows you’re his future wife.
And if you are a Christian single woman who desires to be married to a godly man, I want to let you know about my new book that I just released. It’s called Invite Him: 16 Rules from Ruth to Help Your Future Husband Find You.
And to celebrate the release of this new book and to help get it into the hands of as many people as possible, I’ll be offering it for just $5.99 until October 13th. The regular price for this book will be $15.99.
While it’s true that a woman should not pursue a man, it is untrue that she should simply “wait to be found.” God wants a woman to help her future husband find her. In Invite Him, I provide in-depth biblical instruction on exactly how to play your role as a woman. This information comes right from the book of Ruth. You will learn how to help your future husband see you and pursue you without “taking matters into your own hands.”
You don’t have to be confused anymore about the steps you should take as a woman to enter into a relationship that glorifies the Lord. God’s word provides the answers!
So if you want to learn how to help your future husband to find you, now is the perfect time to get a copy of this book. Click here to learn more!
1. When God Is Revealing You to Your Future Husband, He Will Tell the Man that You Are Open to His Pursuit
I’m not necessarily saying that God is going to audibly send a message to your future husband or simply give him a vision or a word in his heart stating that you are open to his pursuit. Rather, when I say that God is going to “tell” your future husband something, I’m saying that God is going to make a point clear to him through varying means.
One main means through which God is going to speak to your future husband about you is through your actions (Matthew 7:20). If you avoid eye contact, if you walk the other direction when he approaches, if you reject his invitations, if you don’t respond to his texts – this man is not going to sense the Lord telling him that you are open to his pursuit.
Rather, God will actually empower you to truly be open to this man’s pursuit and then God will allow this man to see your openness. This will encourage the man to purse you more (Ruth 3:10).
2. When God Is Revealing You to Your Future Husband, He Will Tell the Man that You Possess the Qualities of a Godly Wife
Throughout the Scriptures, God has given us clear instructions on the biblical qualities of a godly husband and wife (Ephesians 5:21-33, 1 Peter 3:1-7, Colossians 3:18-19). These passages are not only meant to help us know what we should possess so we can be a godly spouse, but these passages can also be used to help us know what to look for in a spouse.
When you possess the qualities of a godly wife before you actually are a wife, this will spark the right man’s interest in you (Ruth 3:11).
3. When God Is Revealing You to Your Future Husband, He Will Tell the Man that You Are a Good Match for Him
When it comes to finding a godly spouse, it must be a biblical process and a personal process.
In other words, you can’t just admire the person because they have the biblical qualities to be a good spouse. There must be a personal connection that inspires your desire for this person too (1 Corinthians 7:36). Likewise, there can’t just be a personal desire. There must be tangible biblical evidence that this person is ready to honor the Lord in the role of husband or wife (1 Corinthians 7:39).
Thus, after your future husband sees your biblical readiness to be a wife, God will then also show him that you two are personally compatible and headed in the same direction in life (Ruth 3:11-12).
4. When God Is Revealing You to Your Future Husband, He Will Tell the Man that You Are Worth the Risk
As I said, it’s uncommon for God to just send a man a clear word or vision that states, “She’s the one.” One reason God does not do this very often is because it would remove the need for risk. Without risk, it cheapens the expression of love.
When you see a man who is risking rejection, who is putting his heart out there for you, and is willing to pursue you even though he doesn’t have a guarantee that it’s all going to work out the way he wants, this will show you that he’s serious and trustworthy (Proverbs 4:23).
Thus, rather than giving your future husband a fairytale where faith is not required, he will give him the boldness to pursue you because he will feel that you are worth the risk (Ruth 3:13).
5. When God Is Revealing You to Your Future Husband, He Will Tell the Man that You Are in Love with Christ
People can get married without doing it God’s way. But people cannot have a blessed marriage when they are rejecting God’s way. So I’m talking about God forming a glorifying relationship between you and a man.
The foundation of anything truly glorifying to the Lord is Christ. Without Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5). When we remain in Christ, we can bear much fruit for God’s glory (John 15:8).
Thus, when God leads a Christian man to pursue you into marriage, that man will love that you love Christ so much. He will admire you for many reasons, but he will value your love for Christ above all your other qualities (Ruth 2:11-12, 1 Corinthians 7:39).
