4 Biblical Ways Your Future Husband Will Make You Feel

Song of Solomon 4:1

Because of past wounds and insecurities, we can certainly feel things incorrectly when it comes to relationships.

However, when your feelings are working properly, God will use them like the dashboard in your car. If your gas tank is full, if your engine is running correctly, and if you are going the right speed, all the relevant gauges will help you know all is well.

Therefore, here are 4 feelings God will use to help you know you’ve met your future husband.

1. When God Reveals Your Future Husband, This Man Will Make You Feel Beautiful

Beauty is a core element to a woman’s identity. Anything core to our identify can only be given to us through Christ. So a woman will not feel truly beautiful unless her identify is rooted in Christ first and foremost.

Additionally, while a woman will express her inner beauty through her outer appearance, we all know true beautify is always more than skin-deep. So rather than referring to a woman’s physical appearance, I’m talking about those traits that make her biblically feminine:

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” (1 Peter 3:3-4, NIV)

When God created a man, he made him strong. When God created a woman, he made her beautiful. Of course there are beautiful qualities in a man and strong qualities in a woman, but there is definitely a greater emphasis on strength in the masculine and beauty in the feminine (1 Peter 3:7).

Thus, when God reveals the right man to you, his pursuit of you will make you feel cherished and beautiful. As the husband said to his wife in Song of Solomon 4:1, “Behold, you are beautiful, my love, behold, you are beautiful!”

2. When God Reveals Your Future Husband to You, This Man Will Make You Feel Safe

Song of Solomon 2:6 states, “His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me!” Her husband is surrounding her with his arms, encompassing her, making her feel secure in his love.

1 Peter 3:7 states, “Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.” This verse does not say a woman is weak. Rather, it states that a man is supposed to use his strength to protect the woman.

Ephesians 5:25 says to the man, “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her . . . .” The woman’s submission is not a sign she lacks strength herself. Rather, her submission is simply the right response when her husband is using his strength to benefit her.

All that to say, a woman doesn’t need to feel weak without a man. God is her ultimate protector and God has given her strength too. However, when you meet your future husband, his strength will be a blessing to you by helping you feel safe. God will use his work ethic to provide for you, his physical body to protect your body, and his leadership to protect you spiritually.

3. When God Reveals Your Future Husband to You, This Man Will Make You Feel Needed

While being loved by someone in marriage is a tremendous blessing, perhaps the greater joy comes from the love you get to give (Acts 20:35). Your future husband will lay down his life for you in sacrificial love, and this will feel amazing. But he needs you just as much as you need him.

When you get to love him in the ways that only you can love him as a wife, when you add value to his life in that special way only a wife can, and when he finds happiness in you in ways only a godly woman can provide, this will be one of the greatest blessings of your life.

As it says of the Proverbs 31 woman, “An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life” (Proverbs 31:10-12).

4. When God Reveals Your Future Husband, This Man Will Make You Feel Like It’s Time to Stop Looking for the Right Man

One way God will help you know you’ve met the right guy is when you stop asking yourself, “I wonder if there is someone better out there?” I’m not saying that this man will be the best man in the world. Rather, I’m saying that when you meet your future husband, you will feel like this is the best man in the world for you.

Your imperfections and his imperfections will be a part of what makes your love for each other so special. In the imperfections of a real relationship, God will give you glimpses of his perfect love and of his grace that we so desperately need (Ephesians 5:32-33).
