1. Extreme Clarity About Who He Wants Is Very Attractive to Christian Women

To be clear, I’m not saying that every guy should express his undying love every time he likes a woman. A lot of guys would misapply what I’m saying and come off as creeps, not taking no for an answer, and then rather than being seen as attractive, they end up being seen as scary.

Also, there certainly are many unhealthy women who will be attracted to the guy who seems disinterested and inconsistent. But I’m not talking about women who are looking for a hookup or worldly guys who come and go. I’m talking about those few godly women who are looking for a serious Christian man, not a worldly boy in a man’s body.

So what am I really saying? I’m simply saying that in general, when a man is very clear about which woman he wants, and he’s doing very clear things to win that woman, deep down this is what every woman wants. She doesn’t want you to have questions about your desires for her. She wants you to know, deep in your soul, that you want her and will do whatever it takes to win her.

In fact, while I’m not condoning this behavior from women, I would say that many of them act inconsistently towards men because they are trying to find a man who will be consistent towards her. In a strange way, she knows that if she doesn’t encourage a man to pursue her, and even rebuffs him a bit, but he keeps pursuing her, then that is a man who is very clear about his desires for her – which, again, is what women want.

So we all know women want to be pursued (Song of Solomon 1:2). But when you are very clear about your desires, this sets you apart from most guys (Song of Solomon 7:10).

2. When He Is Humbly Successful, This Is Very Attractive to a Christian Woman

In addition to pursuit, godly women desire a good provider. This doesn’t mean that a man needs to be rich. Rather, it means that he must possess the strength of character to do whatever it takes to provide for those he has committed to lead.

What sets some men apart from others, however, is when they don’t brag about their successes. Whether he’s a business owner, or he gets a promotion, or he’s simply a great saver who manages his money well, a woman will be far more impressed with a guy like this when he is humble about his own good traits.

Proverbs 27:2, “Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.”

Nothing shouts “insecure” more than a man patting himself on the back, fishing for compliments, or putting others down while lifting himself up. When a man is humble about his successes, he becomes all the more attractive to a godly woman because it shows his identity is rooted in Christ rather than his accomplishments.

She does want a good provider. But more than that, she wants a good provider who is trusting the Lord and not himself to ultimately be the provider. Deuteronomy 8:17-18 states:

Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

3. Deep Conviction About His Direction in Life Is Attractive to Christian Women

Not only do godly women want to be pursued and provided for, but they also want to be led (Ephesians 5:22-25). Godly women know they are called to submit. And they also know this puts them in a very vulnerable position. Thus, it is much easier for them to want to follow a man when they can clearly see that this man knows exactly where he’s going in life.

This doesn’t mean you have to know the exact career, the exact calling, or the exact 50-year plan for your life. But it does mean you must have certain core convictions that will always guide you and that you will never compromise on.

Christian women are attracted to the type of man who can confidently say something like what Joshua said in Joshua 24:15, “And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

When a man has deep convictions about his calling in life, it is very attractive to Christian women.

4. When He’s Actively Concerned for Vulnerable People, This Is Attractive to Christian Women

In addition to pursuit, provision, and leadership, a Christian woman also desires protection.

Almost every man will rise up to protect himself. Most would protect their family. But only truly godly men have a heart for the vulnerable.

Think of Boaz. One reason Ruth fell in love with him was that he was the type of man who cared for the women in his community, protecting them from other men prone to abusing women (Ruth 2:8-9, 22).

A woman knows that if a man is already caring for others in need, he possesses the character to care for her as well.
