We know we have free will and we can’t blame God for our bad choices, but what if we didn’t do anything wrong? And if we did do something wrong, why didn’t he stop us?

In Genesis 12:2-3, God said to Abraham, the father of Israel, “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Maybe you heard God say, “That is the man you will marry one day.” Or maybe you felt God said, “That woman will come back into your life one day.” Or maybe you sensed God whispering, “Don’t worry, I will bless you with a better job soon.”
Putting God first is always the right thing to do. So in some sense, God is always telling us to put him first. However, in this article, we are talking about those moments in life where God is emphasizing this command to us in a more intentional way.
Fear is a focus on an unwanted outcome in the future. Fear occurs because you are worried about experiencing a pain you don’t want to experience or not experiencing a pleasure you do want to experience.
Do you have a major desire in your heart that you know only God can answer? Perhaps you have a crippling sin pattern you want to be free from. Or maybe you want a godly spouse so you can partner with another in your service to God. Whatever it is, we can be sure that God is able (Matthew 7:7, James 1:17, Ephesians 3:20-21).
