Here are 3 possible reason God is allowing you to go through emotional suffering and pain in your life.
The only reason I used the phrase “trying to increase your faith” in the title of this article is because I do believe that there must be a willingness on our part to follow God when he is seeking to increase our faith. God won’t increase your faith if you reject his offer. If we resist, the opportunities for growth he is giving us will be wasted.
Whenever we talk about transformation, we must always start with the gospel of Jesus Christ. According to the Bible, the first step to truly being changed by the power of God is to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord Savior which then allows the Holy Spirit to live within you. For as Romans 8:8-11 states:
Contrary to popular belief, following God is not the safest way to live your life. The Bible is full of incredible stories of faithful saints who followed God even when it was risky. However, the Bible is also full of verses commanding us to be wise. As Christians, we need to find the biblical balance between wisdom and taking risks when God leads us to do so.
Breakthroughs can come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes we need to overcome a harmful sin habit. At other times we need help dealing with some insecurities or identity issues. And other points we are in need of a relationship breakthrough where we finally meet the one God has for us.
In Hebrews 4 we learn that Jesus Christ is our great high priest. This means that Jesus, God himself, mediates for us as we seek to come into the presence of God. So the first key to hearing the voice of God is to come before him through Jesus Christ, for without Christ we can’t truly have a relationship with God. As Hebrews 4:14-16 beautifully expresses:
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. . . . Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
