Is premarital sex a sin? Is sex before marriage mentioned as a sin in the Scriptures? Can Christians have sex before marriage?
Recently I received a question, “I’m 63 and divorced, I’ve been dating someone for 8 years, and we are having sex. Is this wrong?”
In this Q&A video I answer this question in depth. In short, premarital sex is a sin. 1 Corinthians 7:2 is probably the clearest teaching on premarital sex in the New Testament. The Bible often mentions sexual immorality, and with 1 Corinthians 7:2 in mind we can see that the Bible often condemns having premarital sex. Also, Jesus said to even look at a women with lust is sin, so it seems impossible that having sex with someone before marriage would be okay (Matthew 5:27-28).
I also talk about divorce and dating in this video as well.
