5 Biblical Feelings a Woman Will Have When She Meets The Man God Has For Her

Song of Solomon 1:9-10

How will a Christian woman know when God is revealing her future husband to her?

Of course there will be very clear biblical signs, like this man being a Christian and the two of them bearing good fruit together. However, along with external signs that other people will be able to see, she should also have certain inner feelings when God is revealing her future husband to her.

Therefore, here are 5 feelings a woman should have when she meets the man God has for her.

1. A Woman Should Feel Honored and Respected By the Man God Has for Her

If you are a godly woman, a godly man will see how valuable you are to him.

Of course you and your future husband will need to get to know each other before you will be able to see the value you bring each other, but overtime the man God has for you will see your diligent work and honor you.

Of the Proverbs 31 woman, verse 31 (NIV) states, “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”

2. A Woman Should Feel Safe and Protected By the Man God Has for Her

One of the primary roles of a godly husband is to protect his wife and kids. This can include physical protection when needed, but more than that it means the man is willing to do whatever is needed to make sure his family is safe and looked after well.

1 Peter 3:7 says, “Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.”

Woman often get offended because they are called “the weaker vessel,” but notice this is not a diss. It’s actually said for the woman’s benefit because the husband is supposed to her honor her by protecting her. Her being “the weaker vessel” is not a slight but rather a commission to the man to take care of her well.

Would you really want to be stronger than your husband? A strong man will use his strength to protect the woman in his life, not disrespect her. The man God has for you will make you feel safe.

3. A Woman Should Feel Nourished and Provided for By the Man God Has for Her

Another key role of a Christian husband is to be the provider. Of course this doesn’t mean it’s wrong for a woman to work and help provide too. But it’s the man’s calling to make sure his wife and children have what they need to survive. Ephesians 5:28-29 explains:

In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church . . . .”

While a man will only be able to offer this level of love once he marries the woman, when you are getting to know the man God has for you, you will have a feeling that he can provide nourishment and provisions for you and your future children.

Everything good comes from God, but God certainly uses humans to accomplish his will (1 Peter 4:10-11).

4. A Woman Should Feel Pursued and Prioritized By the Man God Has for Her

Song of Solomon 1:9-10, “I compare you, my love, to a mare among Pharaoh’s chariots. Your cheeks are lovely with ornaments, your neck with strings of jewels.”

As you read through the Song of Solomon, it is a constant back and forth between the man and woman. The man pursues and prioritizes the woman, and the woman responds positively and invites the man to pursue her more.

If you’re wondering if a man is the one God has for you but this man is not consistently pursuing you, he’s not the one. Of course some guys take time to warm up before fulling pursuing, but if he never seems interested he’s not the guy for you.

The Proverbs 31 woman’s husband said to her, “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all” (Proverbs 31:29). This is not a statement saying this woman was literally better than all the other women. Rather, this is a statement by her husband that to him, she was better than every other woman.

Likewise, when God reveals your man to you, you will feel pursued and prioritized by him.

5. A Woman Should Feel Included and Needed By the Man God Has for Her

While a husband and wife have different roles, they are meant to function as one unit. Their roles compliment each other. Therefore, when a godly man is leading properly, he won’t be on a solo mission. He will know his wife is a vital team member that he needs (Genesis 2:18).

As 1 Peter 3:7 (NLT) says to husbands about their wives, “but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.”
