A sermon on James 5:13-20 can take many forms. Today, I would like to view James 5:13-20 through the lens of “How to pray with power.”
There is so much I will not be able to cover in this sermon because James 5:13-20 is just so rich. But by going verse by verse through this Bible passage, I believe we can point to at least 3 ways to have more power in prayer.
How do I know if I am truly saved by God? This is a right and good question to ask because throughout the Bible each Christian is told to examine and test themselves. You must know if you are saved for sure or not.
So what is the test of salvation?
What does the Bible say about faith, hope, and love? 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV) says, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
As a thirty-one-year old, these are by far the most conflict-ridden times of my life. Regardless of the network or political persuasion, the word that seems to come out of every news anchor’s mouth to define these days is “divisive.”
Do you want to fight less with your partner? Do you want to argue less and enjoy each other more in your marriage?
If you want Christian dating advice on long-distance relationships, you will want to study Philippians 6:18 as this is where long-distance dating is specifically mentioned. It reads in the KJV, “Thou shall only date long-distance if thy . . . are you still reading this . . . I’m obviously joking.”
When it comes to dating and singleness, perhaps some of the most needed Christian advice is “How to get over someone.”
Do I believe God has one specific person for you to marry (if you are called to marriage)? Yes. Why do I believe that? Because I believe God is sovereign and really does have plans for each of our lives. Now let me over explain that simple answer.
How can you love people better? How can you love your wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, friends, or coworkers like Christ loves you? How can you love less conditionally?
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus talks about a lot of different topics. The underlying theme that ties them all together is motives. One of the main points of Jesus most famous sermon is that God not only cares about what you do but why you do it.
