4 Weird Things that Happen When God Reveals Your Future Wife to You

Proverbs 3:5-6

Here are 4 weird things God often uses to help a man identify his future wife.

1. When God Reveals the Woman He Wants You to Marry, You Will Somehow Overcome the Fears that Have Prevented Past Relationships from Forming

Maybe you have had really strong feelings for women in the past, but because you were so afraid of being rejected, you didn’t even try to pursue these women.

Or maybe you did try to pursue these women, but you were so nervous you kind of botched it.

Or perhaps you never allowed yourself to have strong feelings for a woman because you knew that would open you up to the possibility of getting hurt.

When God is putting you with a woman, the fears and barriers that used to block you from even starting a relationship with women in the past will somehow be removed.

Perhaps the Holy Spirit will just give you a supernatural boldness to pursue this woman that you know is not from yourself. Or perhaps this woman will know the exact words you need to hear to invite your pursuit, which no woman in the past had ever done.

When you finally overcome this barrier, it will feel strange because you might feel like this issue is impossible to overcome; but with God, nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37).

2. When God Reveals the Woman He Wants You to Marry, You Will Somehow Overcome the Fears that Prevented Past Relationships from Lasting

Some men struggle to pursue women. Other men are completely fine with pursuing women but they then begin to struggle once they are actually in a relationship.

Perhaps you’ve dated a lot of women because you enjoy the chase, but then when you start dating you feel trapped or bored.

Or maybe every time you start dating a woman you get insecure that she is cheating on you, so you break up because you feel she’s untrustworthy.

Or perhaps you smother her once you know she likes you; but this is too much and too soon for the women, so they get scared and leave you.

When God is putting you with the right woman, he will somehow help you overcome those relationship blockers. He will send you a sermon at just the right moment. He will lead you to see a counselor so you don’t keep making the same mistakes. Or God will let you have some relationships that are not meant to end in marriage so that he can use these experiences to point out the ways you need to grow.

You might think you can never find a woman you could marry. But once you do, it will feel unbelievable. Trust God, he can do it (Ephesians 3:20-21).

3. When God Reveals the Woman He Wants You to Marry, Both of Your Past Wounds Will Help Each Other Find Healing

Rather than putting you with a woman who never challenges your weak spots and where you never challenge her weak spots, God often pairs you with a wife that has a wound which will antagonize your wound, and vice versa. He does this to promote healing in you both.

For example, if a man struggles with feeling betrayed because of something that happened in this past, God will often pair this man with a woman who fears being abandoned. The man’s fear of betrayal causes him to want to withdraw in order to protect himself from getting hurt, but in the process his withdrawing touches on the woman’s fear of getting abandoned. But since this couple loves one another, to stay together they then seek the healing they need to make the relationship work.

Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” This sharpening process is often painful, so God often uses our most meaningful relationships in this painful sharpening process so we will not run away.

4. When God Reveals the Woman He Wants You to Marry, You Will Receive Confirmation that You Could Not Have Manufactured Yourself

You shouldn’t always expect these things to happen, but when you are making a huge decision, you should expect clearer forms of confirmation.

So when you meet the woman God wants you to marry, or you are starting to realize a woman is your future wife, God will confirm this in multiple and clear ways to you.

You will feel a yes in your heart, you will see biblical truths, and the circumstances will align as needed (Proverbs 3:5-6). People will say things at the exact right moment. Barriers will be overcome that seemed immovable. Doors will open that only God could open.
