My Father’s Call
(Jeremiah 29:13)
Seek me more!
For I stand and knock, here at your door.
Love me and let me in,
Turn to me from every sin.
Come close to me and remain in my love,
Reach out to me and I will again send down my Dove.
You, too, are the son of my affection,
You were made with much care and reflection.
I’ve called you my son, and that is what you are,
Just listen to my voice, even from afar.
Return to me and I will run to you through the field,
You will be rejoiced over and protected with my everlasting shield.
I am your Father and you are my son,
Take up your cross daily and the deal is done.
Your life will be mine and I will be yours,
Eternal life with me will be yours forevermore.
Come, my son, and seek me more.
Holy mackerel, you wrote that? Well, it’s very good and also very true. I can’t write poetry to save my life; I prefer to draw pictures. So I think that anyone who can write poetry has been gifted with something very special.
Thanks for the encouragement Alice 🙂
